MAP Monitor role in DCF

MAP Registered sites serving individuals under age 18 must designate a MAP Quality Assurance Monitor. The MAP Monitor must be a Registered Nurse qualified as a MAP Approved Trainer who supports MAP Certified staff at DMH or DCF sites. To avoid conflicts of interest, our  MAP Monitor may not perform direct nursing care. Role of the MAP monitor is outlined in map policy 02-2. The role includes yearly MAP Medication Administration Demonstration. We can provide supplemental MAP monitoring for smaller agencies or to fill in, in the absence of a regular employee. We can support teams, do audits and be sure that the MAP monitor role is being carried out efficiently. At this time we cannot provide full time MAP monitors to an agency.  We can provide MAP training with emphasis on liquid medication administration and other skills that transfer to the pediatric population.
