THE LADDER ASSOCIATION STANDARD COURSE.
1. Select appropriate work at height equipment for a task
2. Assess and determine when it is appropriate to use ladders and stepladders
3. Correctly locate and safely use ladders and stepladders
4. Inspect ladders and stepladders for damage
And ensures delegates have an understanding of:
1. Legislation and regulations affecting work at height
2. Product standards and classifications for ladders and stepladders
3. Hazards affecting the use of ladders and stepladders
INSPECTORS COURSE (Delegates must obtain Standard Card before attending Inspectors Course)
- Accurately record details of ladders
- Identify component parts using industry standard naming conventions
- Thoroughly inspect ladders and stepladders, and identify safety critical faults
- Record your findings in accordance with statutory requirements (as outlined in PUWER ACOPs 163)
- Recommend action to be taken if faults found

Working at Height Regulations 2005 (Half Day course),
A stand alone module designed for anyone involved in the planning, supervision or management of work at height. No previous experience necessary
The course takes a carefully structured look at:
- The Legal Duties imposed by the Work at Height Regulations 2005
- Explains the importance of planning for all work at height
- The Risk Assessment process - now required by law for all work at height
- The Hierarchy of Measures - a detailed look at avoidance, safe places of work, and work equipment
The course includes a number of Group Exercises giving your staff hands-on experience of the practical skills necessary to:
- Carry out a work at height Risk Assessment
- Assess Safe Places of Work
- Select appropriate and cost-effective Work Equipment, we look at Scaffold, Mobile Towers, Powered Access (Scissor Lifts, Self Propelled Booms, Van Mounts and Trailer Mounts) Steps ,Ladders and Harnesses
- Plan appropriate rescue and emergency procedures
